Introducing our new Head of People and Culture: Mike Nicodemus

At Metacore, we craft world-class entertainment while having fun doing it. Our culture of trust, psychological safety and wellbeing empowers us to aim high, take ownership, and shape the future of mobile games together. Over the past five years, we’ve grown fast into a team of over 270 professionals across the Helsinki and Berlin offices.
Fast growth doesn’t come without growing pains. We take our culture and wellbeing very seriously, and as a company, one of our key objectives is to level up a high-performing and engaged team. While we are aiming high and ambitious, we want our business and people to grow sustainably. This means building an organizational backbone that enables fast growth without compromising either our culture or the wellbeing of our people.
At Metacore, we want to have a holistic approach to our employee lifecycle, from contact to contract throughout the whole Metacore journey. To make this come alive even better, we’re thrilled to welcome our new Head of People and Culture Mike Nicodemus!

Mike brings extensive experience in leading and scaling organizations in commercial as well as people roles across both B2B and B2C, in companies like Vinted, SumUp, Starbucks and Nike. He has a first-hand understanding of high-growth tech companies, combined with a people-first approach that brings strategy and performance together. In this role Mike will be leading both People and Talent Acquisition functions to bring the two closer together for seamless employee experience.
Based in Berlin, Mike will have a global role, and also reinforce Metacore’s commitment to our Berlin hub and help expand relocation opportunities for top talent.
As Mike joins us outside of the game industry, I’m eager to leverage fresh perspectives on how we can do things differently while maintaining what is true to Metacore. Together we’ll explore how we can scale without losing shared direction and how we can intentionally refactor our culture and values as we grow.
On behalf of everyone at Metacore, welcome to the team, Mike!
