Code of Conduct for Vendors
Metacore holds itself highly accountable when it comes to human rights & labor standards, anti-bribery & corruption, and environment and expects the same from all of its Vendors. The expectations are divided into two categories:
- Requirements – compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, failure to adhere to any of these will be considered as a material breach of any Agreement between Vendor and Metacore and may result in immediate termination of the Agreement.
- Ambitions – expectations towards Vendors.
Metacore reserves the right to terminate its business relationship with any Vendor that fails to comply with this Code of Conduct. Vendors must provide accurate and timely information to Metacore about their operations and business practices, including any issues or concerns related to compliance with this Code of Conduct. Vendors need to provide assistance to investigate any claimed breaches of this Code of Conduct. The Vendor shall ensure that its subcontractors comply with the Requirements and Ambitions of this Code of Conduct.
Requirements
Compliance with Laws and Regulations: Vendors must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards in the countries where they operate. This includes, but is not limited to, laws related to labor, environmental protection, anti-corruption, export control, and data protection. Any violations of these laws will not be tolerated and may result in termination of the business relationship.
Human Rights: Vendors must respect the human rights of all individuals and must not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or other protected status. Vendors must also comply with all applicable laws related to human rights, including laws related to forced labor, child labor, and discrimination. Vendor must comply with all applicable anti-discrimination and anti-harassment laws.
Labor Standards: Vendors must provide safe and healthy working conditions, and may not in any instance use forced, child, or involuntary labor. Workers must have the right to form and join trade unions, and must be paid fair wages and benefits. Vendors are expected to comply with all applicable laws related to working hours, overtime pay, and other labor related issues. Vendors must make reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities in accordance with applicable law.
Anti-corruption: Vendors must conduct their business with integrity and in compliance with all applicable anti-corruption laws. This includes, but is not limited to, laws related to bribery, money laundering, and fraud.
Environmental Protection: Vendors must comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to, laws related to air and water pollution, waste management, and conservation of natural resources.
Data Protection: Vendors must protect the security and privacy of any personal data they collect, process, or store, and must comply with all applicable data protection laws. This includes, but is not limited to, laws related to data privacy, data security, and data retention.
Ambitions
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Metacore is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of its business, including its relationships with Vendors. Metacore expects its Vendors to share this commitment and to conduct their business in a manner that promotes DEI. Vendors must foster a diverse and inclusive workplace culture, including the recruitment, retention, and advancement of diverse employees. Vendors are expected to ensure equal treatment and opportunity in all aspects of their employment practices, including hiring, compensation, benefits, and promotion.
Continuous Improvement: Metacore is committed to continuous improvement of its sustainability and ethical performance, and expects its Vendors to share this commitment and to work with Metacore to achieve these goals. This includes, but is not limited to, implementing sustainable practices, reducing both Vendor’s own and Metacore’s environmental footprint and promoting ethical business practices.
