Hallo, world – and especially friends old and new in Germany! We are excited to finally share that Metacore is moving to the next phase in our growth, and expanding to Berlin, our first location beyond our Helsinki HQ.
It's been a big year for Metacore – we've onboarded about 80 new Metacoreans to our team, launched a global campaign with Pedro Pascal, opened the Mansion in Merge Mansion and live, and just passed the 50 million downloads milestone for Merge Mansion.
But to sustain this growth and reach the next stage in our mission of entertaining hundreds of millions of people for decades, we realized that something new needed to be done – finding the right talent is our biggest bottleneck for growth.
We’ve been planning Metacore’s expansion and vetting different markets for quite some time now, with the goal of supporting our growing team and onboarding new talent. We wanted to tap into a city that not only had a strong gaming ecosystem, but a vibrant tech, entertainment and creative scene, too. And that's how we landed in Berlin.
As I’m writing this, our Talent Acquisition team is already working to find and hire the best talent for Berlin and we have multiple positions open for a new Merge Mansion feature team. And this is only the beginning – we’ll be growing our Berlin location even further, bringing our unique culture and player-first way of making games to this magnetic city.
But above all, we’re excited to enter this new city, eager to learn from and work with the best in Berlin – while hopefully making our own mark on this gaming ecosystem, too. Bis bald!
