Metacore appoints Mike Nicodemus as New Head of People and Culture
Nicodemus begins his new role leading the People and Talent Acquisition functions, with the goal of strengthening and scaling people practices with the business, while fostering Metacore’s unique culture across geographies.

Mike Nicodemus’ appointment at Metacore, the mobile game company behind Merge Mansion, highlights the importance the company places on culture and wellbeing. He brings extensive experience in leading and scaling organizations in commercial as well as people roles across both B2B and B2C, in companies like Vinted, SumUp, Starbucks and Nike. Based in Berlin, Nicodemus will have a global role, and also reinforce Metacore’s commitment to its Berlin hub and help expand relocation opportunities for top talent.
In his role, Nicodemus will bring both the People and Talent Acquisition functions closer together, ensuring Metacore’s people practices scale with its growth while fostering the company’s culture across multiple locations.
“Over the past five years, we’ve grown fast into a team of over 270 professionals across the Helsinki and Berlin offices. One of our key objectives is to level up a high-performing and engaged team through a holistic approach to our employee lifecycle. This requires building an organizational backbone that enables fast growth without compromising our culture or wellbeing of our people. We’re thrilled for Mike to join us and bring his strategic and hands-on leadership experience from scaling people functions in high-growth tech companies, combined with a people-first approach that connects strategy to performance,” says Metacore’s CEO Mika Tammenkoski.
“What drew me to Metacore was how intentionally culture is treated as a business enabler, not as buzzwords. The focus on psychological safety, wellbeing and transparency is rare. I look forward to scaling our people practices globally, while also strengthening the Berlin office as a key talent hub. I’m eager to learn the mobile game industry and work with Metacore’s creative teams to help unleash their potential. Most importantly, I know I can succeed here by showing up as my authentic self,” adds Mike Nicodemus.
Nicodemus’ appointment reflects Metacore’s ambition to strengthen its organizational foundation to support long-term growth, while ensuring its people and culture remain at the heart of its success.
