As an Art Director at Metacore, you and your team can freely define the best way for perfecting the visual style, design, and UI for the game you’re building – as long as your way respects our company culture and finds a market fit. This level of independence calls for a highly proactive approach to handle tasks from leading a team of visual artists to crafting game art hands-on.

  • You’ll be working on the visual style, design, and overall look of our games, making sure our characters, assets, and environments are both coherent and visually stunning

  • You’ll take leadership of the artistic processes to make sure the vision is clear to your team of artists and work with the team on creating in game assets

  • You’ll oversee art tasks sent to outsource partners and manage communication between them and your team

  • You’ll be involved in our current and future projects (including animation, community, and marketing), and ensure that the mark we leave is always top-notch


  • You’ve got 8+ years of experience in game development and game art

  • You’ve got previous leadership projects under your belt in developing visual concepts and ideas

  • You’re comfortable with both leading a team of artists and working alone, creating concept sketches and final renderings and animations

  • You know how to give and receive constructive feedback and how to help your team members grow in their roles

  • You’ve got a proven background using Adobe Creative Cloud and Unity

Metacore is formed by small game teams, each deciding which games to build, when to ship them, and when to pivot or kill them. As a company, we’re relatively small too. Our headcount is currently 30+, and probably 40+ by the end of this year.
